What is Ebola?


Symptoms start two days to three weeks after contracting de virus, with a fever, sore throat, muscle pain, headaches, Vomiting, diarrhea and rash follow, bleeding, alng with decreased function of the liver and kidneys. Arnd thz time, affected people may begin to bleed both internally and externally body. Death, if it occurs, is typically 4 to 16 days from the start of symptoms and is often due to LBP(Low Blood Pressure) due to fluid loss.

The virus may be acquired upon contact with blood or other bodily fluids of an infected human or other infected animals. Spreading virus through the air has not been documented in the natural environment. Fruit bats are consider to be the normal carrier in nature, be able to spread the virus without being affected. Humans become infectd by contact with the bats r living r dead animal's that have been infected by bats. Once human infections occur, the virus may spread between people as well.To diagnose Ebola virus disease, other diseases with similar symptoms, malaria, cholera and other viral hemorrhagic fevers are first eliminated, Blood samples are tested 4 viral antibodies

No specific treatment for the disease is yet available.Efforts 2 help those who are infected,r supportive nd include giving either oral re-hydration therapy r fluid's.This care improves outcomz.The WHO reported a total of 1,719 cases.The largest outbreak to date is the ongoing 2014 West African Ebola outbreak.As of 16 October 2014, 8,999 suspected cases resulting in the deaths of 4,486 have been reported. Efforts are under way to develop a vaccine however ,not yet developed.
